🎶Gigs: Trans Liberation Front Brighton is holding a fundraising gig tonight at Daltons. From 7pm, enjoy blistering punk and art pop from Could Be Ghosts, Gilt, Floralis, Ocarina, and Marshall Mandiangu, alongside merch stalls from Anti Raids Brighton and Brighton Queers for Palestine. Suggested donation on the door is £8, but nobody will be turned away from lack of funds; Mississippi lo-fi bedroom pop savant Yot Club is at Dust on Wednesday, with more music most likely recorded in his car (this isn't a dig, that's genuinely something he does a lot) (tickets); Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard is at The Hope and Ruin on Thursday, a band we described as 'endearingly esoteric' back in 2023, touring their latest album, Skinwalker (tickets); also on Thursday is Melt Banana, a Tokyo-based two-piece who have been performing together for more than 25 years, very involved in the noise music underground scene in Japan but also simultaneously supporting people like MGMT, they're at Concorde 2 at ostensibly 7:30am but we're sure that's meant to be 7:30pm (tickets).
Comedy: Perennial Seagull favourite, Forge Comedy Club, is back at Ironworks Studios this Friday with comedy from Ash Frith, Eshaan Akbar, Jimmy Tam, Elaine Fellows, and Ian Smith (tickets).
🪩Club night: Have you ever wanted a club night that plays nothing but Taylor Swift? If so, Swiftogeddon is the night for you! It's tomorrow at Komedia, featuring non-stop Swift all night: deep cuts, extended mixes, fan favourites and all the hits from 8pm (tickets).
🛍️Kilo sale: Worth The Weight is back in Brighton for a vintage kilo sale this Saturday. They'll have nine tonnes of handpicked vintage and second hand clothes to look through at St Bartholomew's Church, and every kilo costs £20 (tickets).
Auction: There's a local history auction tonight at Glebe Villas Hall, it starts at 8pm, 300 books, postcards, maps, ephemera and more will be available, including original photos from the 1896 first run of the Volks Railway, Brighton directories from the 1880s to the 1970s, and photographs of Steyning Station.
🍱Food and drink: Bison Hove has a lot going on for Oktoberfest this Thursday: a huge beer lineup, pretzels, flammkuchen, KäseSpätzle, bratkartoffeln, apple strudel, and many more delicious sounding things (booking a table recommended).
